My husband & I are shopping to buy a new home. We have looked at Miracle homes in Milwaukee, but hear so many bad things about the company. Should we believe what we hear? Do you know of any other builders we should look at?

Call us fans! My wife and I built a home with Miracle Homes back in 1994. We had some minor bumps in the road, but Miracle Homes did more than meet us in the middle! We are experienced home builders, and we were treated as if we were members of the family!
It is easy to cast stones at others. It is much more difficult to honestly and objectively look at each individual situation. We personally know more than a dozen people who have either worked for Miracle Homes, or built with Miracle Homes. Overwhelmingly, Miracle Homes' end product was highly rated, and our friends deemed it "Way Above Average" as a work place.
Shouldn't we all appreciate the efforts MH has put forth in the creative arena? We always go to the Parade of Homes, but - in the last few years - we would just go to the site that Miracle was at. Every year, we are amazed and are entertained by the newest Tom Hignite ideas and innovations. Just because they are different, doesn't mean they are bad or poor.
In conclusion, if you are looking for the best home builder to build your house, my wife and I would solidly endorse Miracle Homes as the best builder in this market!

I have posted on this thread before, about 2 and a half years ago when Miracle was building our home. I wanted to answer the recent post named Trvr79. The reason why some people (like me) who ARE very satisfied with our Miracle Home would read this forum is because I have it in a tickler for me to check whenever I think or care to. It's called surfing. I had found that at least one negative comment was not at all from a real complainer but was actually from a home building Competitor! That's right, another builder who I can only guess is trying to rain on the good Miracle name so as to try to shed a little sunshine onto themselves? I myself would take any negative comments here as either malcontents or other builders. Otherwise, if you really have such repairs to make on your home, why don't you do like I did several months ago(remember, our Miracle Home is now 1 and a half years past warranty) when we had a door that would not latch due apparently to settling. They told us that this was out of warranty but had someone who was going to be in the area who could look at it in a few days. They did come out(5 days later), they did repair it and thanked me for my past business. That seems to be parr for the Miracle course.

If you have issues, why not call their warranty guy Mark(that was the guy who came to se us) instead of griping online. I guess some peole don't know how to handle problems but sure know how to gripe about them. Give them a call, you might be surprised and you might get your issue handled. I gaurantee you won't get anything handled by doing a web-gripe!

By the by,what brought Miracle to mind at this moment was I just saw their Miracle Summer Tour of Homes. Friendly, professional, and jaw-dropping new things that are making my wife want to build another Miracle(and I just got to the patio fireplace just the way I wanted it too...oh well).

2 and a half years, two warranty calls, both quickly handled, no biggie. Great home!!!!

Hi i live in the UK and have studied construction and qwork in the building industry. When istudiedconstructionour bible was the BuildingConstruction Handbook by R.Chudley. I was wondering if there is a book like this in America for people learning construction. The book i Have gives a brief explanation of all the basic building processes and techniques and the regulations that govern them.

So is there a book like this in the US that i could take a look at?

    Thanks.
