This is not a photograph.. this was made in 3d studio max using simple shapes, lighting & textures.

Photo-realistic renderings make you look twice, three times .. .. is that a photograph ? No!
The 'dirt' on the ends of the deck of cards was accomplished by merely using a Grey light source and selecting the end "edges" on each of the 'cards". Nothing else in the entire scene receives any illumination from the one grey light. There are 12 different lights in this scene!!

This next 3dmax scene has over 38 lights that really provide the illusion of many lights.

This was my job for many decades, go into an empty room, Design, layout & Install all equipment and wiring. IN most cases I was 'teaching' an apprentice. Math (trig & algebra & geometry are all used in bending metal pipes.) Blueprint reading, NEC Electrical Code, Electrical Theory are some of the many subjects I am well versed in teaching.

This logo was made in 3D Studio Max for some prison guards in California! They loved it!

I love to draw and create but... 2d applications just don't do it for me. 3D is the most fascinating world you can ever enter into! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE ANY ARTISTIC TALENT. The tools in 3d studio max are very powerful and easy to use.. (chuckle). The learning curve however is so far out of sight it is pathetic. The books do not teach you how to use this program. They all teach you 'theory' that will do nothing except confuse the living heck out of you. My purpose for posting all this info.. is to make it so easy to learn an extremely difficult program.

Want to go to school for 3d Studio Max? $3,500 for one weekend!

It took me 15 years of frustrating study from books to learn this program. NO I don't know it all - far far from it. But I can navigate and teach you how to make creative renderings that mimik photo realisim.

Glass is the hardest texture to learn how to make and apply the correct type lighting to render properly!
