Moved from NY to Chapel Hill and miss the water!

Posted 10-05-2008 at 06:14 PM by missing H2O in Chpl Hill

My family just moved from the eastern end of LI to Chapel Hill this past June. We really like the community and especially the schools in Chapel Hill (have 4 kids-3 in elementary and 1 in middle school). The problem is we are HEART-SICK for the water. We thought that Jordan Lake has an avid sailing program but we have that not to be true. We are thinking of moving to the coast of NC but want to be in a great school district- any thoughts?

I don't know about nc but check out smith Mtn Lake - we do have a avid sailing community and believe it or not there is some affordable housing and excellent schools!

Also look into the Lake Norman Communites. Denver for Lincoln Counties schools . They generally are rated about North Carolina averages.
