Seattle weather ‘Suckness’ – and – My home improvement Comings Alongs
UPDATE (5/6) - Here's a new commercial for Pemco Insurance, geared towards the Northwest. Love these. They got some great other ones out too. The company that's contracted to make these commercials is based in Seattle, and they hit the nail on the head - give's you a real sense of Seattle and the Northwest. If you want to do something, you've got to do it in the rain here.

What is the deal with you Seattle? Every day now since before I can remember it has been 39 degrees in the morning, every morning, when I wake up. This is horrible - Not acceptable for mid April. I so badly want to believe spring is here, that I set up my hammock in the backyard and have been laying out in it in the 48 degree weather (which I must say is rather pleasant when the sun is directly shining). BUT c’mon, it’s pathetic to see a grown man in a t-shirt laying sunbathing when it is 48 degrees outside. Enough already! Let’s start ramping up the springtime jet stream turbine and start sucking some warmer, and drier, springtime weather this way.
Hopefully, all is not lost. But unfortunately, I am not without my doubts. Every year in Seattle we set some sort of stupid weather record. Last year it was number of consecutive days without reaching 70 degrees. 273 in a row, if I remember. This year, according to the article below, we’re at least number of days not reaching 55 or above; 2 so far. This really sucks. I need to get the heck out of here. My girlfriend says I complain too much, but I say if it didn’t suck, I wouldn’t complain. Its kind of like what came first, the chicken or the egg; my complaints or the Seattle weather Suckness..?
SO, on a related note I have been working feverishly on my home to get it ready to put on the market. So far, so good. I am down to three tasks. Only 3. I need to touch up the paint on the outside of the home, wash the windows, and have someone come in and refinish the hard wood floors in the living and dining area. 2 weeks, 3 tops, this place will be on the market and I can begin setting my sights on warmer, and sunnier, locations around the nation-s. Wish me luck!! I will share photos when it’s on the market and totally completed.

One more record: The year/winter I moved to Seattle (Nov ’98) was the worst winter. They set all sorts of records for least amount of sunshine, most rainy days, most snowfall in the mountains, etc. That was the year Mt. Baker set the world record for snowfall; 1,100 inches or something crazy. Which was great for all us optimistic skiers.

With all the rain Seattle gets, they need to send all that down to Texas.
We've got to put these wildfires out.

Aww, I feel a bit self centered now complaining about Seattle when Texas is going through such a hard time. And we did have such a nice Saturday, 62 and pure blue sky. That must have been the one day the weather patterns shifted, and Texas actually did get some rain, cause Sunday and today we are back to normal.
