Internet Begging

Posted 02-08-2011 at 10:01 PM by CraigBlogClog

Sometimes I get ideas in my head that I like to explore and research. Sometimes I get a story idea (I‘m getting into fiction writing) or an idea for an invention. Sometimes I get really hair brained bad investment ideas. Lucky for me, I rarely act on those. Lately though, I’ve been thinking about the concept of ‘Internet Begging’. Has anyone come across this yet? I’ve seen it. In fact, I came across a blog right here on city-data a ways back where a girl was pleading for someone to help out her boyfriend. Apparently, he was living out of his car and she was begging; looking for someone to help by giving him a job. She didn’t really list any of his credentials or give a location that I remember, so I’m guessing it didn’t work out. But it got me to thinking: What a great idea..! I think she was on to something.

So here’s my idea (I guess it could be classified as an investment idea): A website that is set up solely for beggars and begging. People could set up a profile of themselves, describe their hardship, and then visitors to the site could give them a dollar, or more, donating to their account via PayPal or a major credit card. The site itself would make money by taking a commission off each donation, like 10% or something. You could even get in on high profile begging where people ask for large dollar amounts, call it a VIP Platinum account or something, where the user pays to beg for large $$$.

Here’s an example;

“Hello and greetings! If you are a millionaire and reading this I would appreciate if you would take some time to consider including me in your living will. I would be forever grateful, and put the money to exceptional good use. I am a kind and caring and good-hearted person, and I help out others whenever I can. I spend money very well, and very wisely, but unfortunately, I have some bills I need to pay down. So please consider donating a chunk of your fortune to me, a stranger yes, but also a fellow man, traveling down the same bumpy road on a little journey we all call life. If you are a Billionaire, I do not discriminate and am willing to accept large dollar amounts, pleasantly, from you too. So God Bless, and thank you in advance for your generous generosity!”

Hmmm... Maybe I’m running out of things to blog about and need to get back to fixing my house up. Doh!
I'll post some photos next time.

Cheers!

    Unless its something that gets a lot of Publicity, like on the National News of someone with a hardship, I doubt that your Internet begging would work well...

    After all, those Millionaires and Billionaires have families too, and thier kids beg, borrow or steal enough off them, so that they wouldnt be so kind into donating to your cause LOL.

    Besides, they didnt get to be 'rich', by giving thier money away!

    Hope you get the brightest idea, and make millions.

    I wish you well...
