Sorry but it has proven highly effective where it's used. My sister lived in Hawaii where they practice it and said it worked rather well plus it's not actually year round so much as a couple of months on and a couple weeks off so it's not to bad. It's also fact that you retain more in this manner than taking off 2-3 months at a time and going back cold, it's exactly why we are lagging behind globally in education, we are still teaching our young people in an outdated manner. My son is 10 and has remarked that he'd like to try it, he's a very good student with a love of math and science and likes the thought of a 2 week spring break every few months and it also works out rather well for hard working parents. We work 40 plus hours a week year round without those breaks, if we are lucky we might get 1-3 weeks vacation a year but ask your folks just how much of a vacation it really is. If I were you I'd try eagerly try it out, my sister told me that her children ended up with just as much if not a little more time off than back stateside.
