NO MORE "POLITICS AS USUAL"

Posted 10-01-2008 at 11:45 AM by starvinguitarist

Tired of the party politics that is running this government and the country's citizens into destruction? A system drenched in scandals and abusive behaviors? I hope to hell I'm wrong but it looks more and more like, not the beginning of the end, but perhaps, the middle of the end. Scary, huh? I stopped voting when it became necessary to vote for the "less of two" evils. I'm not religious but I define evil as 'not good', just as any dictionary does. Obama's call for 'real change' should not be construed as a 'liberal' stance. Change is a fundamental movement to a better place or way. Especially in troubled times, like these. I favor Obama because of his positive outlook and attitudes, with true honesty. Something that only the eye of a wise mind can recognize. I wish I could say the same about McCain, but I'm spiritually
convicted from doing so. If I decide to vote in this election, it will only be, if the entire system is changed to hand written ballots, and the taxpayers are not held responsible for repayment of the "bank bailout scheme"...period...I believe in my heart a revolution is imminent, only because I have lost faith in this society as a whole. Our enemies are now among us, they are at our jobs, our public arenas and churches, and quite possibly in our own homes! Like I wrote above, I hope I'm wrong.....if not....the end will soon begin.

I agree with you to a certain extent. However, I believe the true "enemy" that so many of us invite into our homes every day are the people we watch on TV. I was born in 1964 and grew up before 24 hour news. I truly believe that the continuous barrage of supposed experts telling us what to think about every word that comes out of a person's mouth has corruputed our natural ability to think for ourselves. I have given up on watching any televison that is not purely for entertainment (and that certainly does not include network news). I rely on newspapers and or internet sites that I can listen to and verify the actual text of any given person's message. I can then sit back and think for myself what I think of what the person said and decide how I feel about it. If you can't verify the truth in what you hear, you are constantly being manipulated and I simply will not tolerate this in my life any longer. People let us stop letting other people tell us how to think and start thinking for ourselves again, if we don't I agree that the end will soon begin. I hope I am wrong too, but I don't think I am.
