A cali girl in the wild, wild, midwest?

Help! My boyfriend wants me to move to Ohio so we can be together and eventually get married and I'm needing to hear good things about Cleveland so that I can even think about doing it! My experiences in Ohio have been mixed and I'd like to hear the "real deal" about what it's like to live there. The people, neighborhoods, weather...any advice you can give me of what to avoid or what I NEED to know...Truthfully, maybe my boyfriend's friends are just "unique" but I can't help but worrying all I'm going to meet are people with these characteristics: been in jail, can't find a job, no education after high school, live in run down neighborhoods and have car parts and tools in their yard, have tons of kids and baby "mamas/daddy's", and a little racist. In the crowds I came across, the guys were sexist, the women were trashy and didn't really take care of themselves well. I'm not about surface things but at least throw on some mascara and take your hair out of the bun! His family was the salt of the earth, so I do see that "realness" that is lacking in LA, but I also see a harshness that I haven't really experienced before. I thought the people would be alot nicer than LA people but I found them excluding and jaded. Plus, the girls out there were alot faker to me than the LA girls...In fact, some of them were downright mean! So I'm worried about making friends, dealing with the weather, and being able to find an area to live that I can call home. Can an LA girl survive the wild, wild, midwest?

Cleveland, yuck!!! Ohio Yuck!!! Im sure Im alot older than you but Im in Ohio and it sucks, no work, really red neck
here, white women want to be black. LOL!! Everyone has a pill pushing Doctor, and is commiting some kind of FRAUD, either with WELFARE, SSDisiability, FOOD STAMPS, its just awful here. Im sure back in the day it was a great place to live, its pretty here and green and 4 seasons, but its a dump, and you will not be happy here.
Im here only cause Im helping my son get custody of his
4 year old daughter. but we would love to leave here, b ut
he does have a job and dont think the court will let him leave the state with his daughter. The housing market is
in the toilet here and every other house is for sale.
I am a runner and I like to walk, twice a day but here I cannot do that , the humidity is so bad, and they dont have sidewalks. LOL just roads with big holes where you can break your legs. lOL
