Dear Senator Boxer,
As one of my representatives in the Senate, I expect you to be fighting FOR a public option in the Health Care Reform bill before it finds its way to President Obama for signature into Law.
The Senate has created a terrible bill that is nothing more than a mandate to line the pockets of private insurance without a public option for the American people. I understand you thought it was the best you could do to get the needed 60 votes, but it is totally unacceptable to the constituents you represent. I’m with Congressman Anthony Weiner on this – your chamber is digging in its heels and refusing to incorporate any of the best parts of the House legislation in the process of merging these bills, and it is unconscionable.
Frankly, I’d rather see you take a principled stand and just let Joe Lieberman filibuster until he turns blue and has to wet himself on the Senate floor, than to have such a terrible piece of legislation burdening the American people and riding the backs of Democrats trying to win elections for years to come. Because believe me, Democrats, including yourself, will lose a huge amount of support. No, we aren’t all going to go running to the Republicans, but you can bet a lot of us will be taking a harder look at Independents or simply not voting at all.
THERE MUST BE A PUBLIC OPTION TO CREATE CHOICE AND COMPETITION. ESPECIALLY IF THERE IS GOING TO BE A MANDATE!
You need to TRY HARDER for us.
Sincerely,
Jill [Last Name]

as a wife of an orthopedic surgeon as well as an RN
The republicans are the only ones who will go for tort reform which will help medical professionals practice the way they need to in order to be effective! I have voted republican and democrat as I vote for the candidate however I am also considering being an independent.Posted 11-06-2010 at 09:42 AM by goodgal
