One of Steep Creeks's Bears
Posted 07-30-2008 at 08:29 AM by Redhawk
This is one of two young black bears that has been hanging out at Steep Creek near Mendenhall glacier. They have had the creek all to themselves for the last month or so but that will be changing real soon. Now that the Sockeye salmon have started their spawning run at the creek other, bigger bears will soon be arriving for the feast.

Awesome Photos! I have always wanted to see a bear in the wild. Here in NY state, we only have Black Bear and they are plentiful in the Catskill & Adirondack Mountains. Ladeebug
