Good Morn... Bigun, Where's your halter??

Posted 10-06-2009 at 04:50 AM by LookinForMayberry

This was a normal morning. I turned on the coffee maker, lifted the cover from Bigun's crate, and slid over the latch, lead in hand. Only when he came bounding out, there was no ring on his back to clip on.

What the heck?

As he charged for the cow hoof that DH bought for him, yesterday, I managed to get the choke chain from the handle of his lead (used only for "No Pull" reinforcements, as required) to the clip end, slipped it over, and hurried him outside before we had any puddles to clean up.

Back inside, safe for the interior for a couple of hours, I left him to the hoof and searched his crate. There were all the chewed pieces -- thank God he didn't eat anything!

My Bigun boy -- what will you do, next?

He's quickly growing from a docile pup to a willful adolescent. He's starting to ignore the "Come" commands -- time to return to the long lead training with some "gold" treats.

Thank goodness I didn't get a pup later, while I was working full-time. Being a doggie mom is full-time work, NOW.

It's amazing how tough those pups get.

It seems the older they get, the more they go all over the place.
