Another adoption down!

Our second ever avian adoption is a success. We spent a good hour with the adopters. Wonderful people. They have 2 birds already and one is special needs. Always like to see that!!
Mocha, our GSD / cattle dog mix is at her adoptive home for another play date. She did better walking on a leash this time and seemed slightly more relaxed; hope she's lossening up at their home. Adopting out dogs that are so conservative is so hard.
Have the tortoises up for adoption as well. That's killing me, but with hubby facing another surgery there's no way he'd be able to carry 2 tortoises in the 100 pound range each in and out of the house daily. Seeing as how his condition continues to deteriorate and the doctor's have said he'll never improve, we felt it best for them.
My proposal for the animal shelter is complete. I'm looking into doing a federal grant to help aleviate some of the inital cost for start up. Deadline October 19th and I've never done a grant application before, so I've got some learning to do fast!
