Memories

Posted 09-05-2008 at 09:52 AM by East Coast Wanderer

I was listining to a CD with DooWop, music I've always enjoyed. After a song and a half I turned the CD player off. It brought back too many memories of a simpler life and made me feel somewhat on the down side. This will pass as have other unpleasent thoughts and feelings. Sometimes I wish for the simpler life but that would be boring constantly.

Yes njmike...........DooWop can do that. It was a simpler time, a relaxing time. It can bring memories flowing back.

Just recently while listening to DooWop at the local fair........I was taken back to a time when a High School DooWop group stopped by our home at a graduation party we were having. It was a complete surprise.
They sat there and sang..........just wonderfully. In fact I hear today they sing in Vegas!!!
I did see them on a road tour also.
So many memories come rushing back with the four boys sitting, snapping their fingers,singing.........and the rest of us in awe. It was very sweet of them to crash the party in such a fun manner.
DooWop will bring you back........Thats a certain.
    Especially that.....
"Lion sleeps tonight"...... Ah ..Wingowap, Wingowap....

I have a whole list of 50's songs I got off YouTube on my favorites list and just love hearing them. We are very lucky to have lived in those great times. Here's a toast to all us BabyBoomers!
