Alaska 2008

Well my wife & I have been on holiday in Alaska these past couple weeks. We took a cruise on the Carnival Spirit from 8/13-8/20. We visited Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Haines & Sitka before docking in Whittier on 8/20. We had a car pick us up in Whittier & take us to Anchorage Airport. There we picked up a rent a SUV & have been driving it all over South Central Alaska. We are currently in the Mat-Su Valley, but are leaving tomorrow for the Kenai Peninsula to spend a couple days with some CD folks who have offered us a place to stay.

So glad to hear you had such a great time! I was down in Washington for the entire time you were up here - how strange is that? Get some gorgeous pictures I hope? I was up in Denali this past weekend and the snow capped mountains nearly had me driving off the road.

A Cruise Ship in Alaska? I know that was fun but you need to see Alaska the way we saw it. Me and a buddy went hiking with a small tent and spent 6 months hiking and living off the land. What a battle that was but sure was an adventure.Posted 03-11-2009 at 10:29 PM by chrharris
