My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego | List of Best Posts
This blog is where I express myself to the world or at least to those who might stop by to read what I post . Maybe God will use what I post (I am a Christian and this blog will have a most decidedly Christian bent to it) to good effect in the lives of my readers.

I may turn some of my posts into a book. I may cease blogging here altogether. Who knows. But for now..I am content to post away in this, my own little corner of the world.

Rather than reading through my now lengthy list of posts you may wish to read what I consider to be my very best posts or you can just read the posts that deal with a single subject category that might interest you.

Please know that I am open to any input on any topic I write about. If you have something to say about anything you see written here please....feel free to speak up in the form of leaving a comment or sending me a PM (private message).

And if you are in San Diego and wish to meet the one and only Carlos (that's me )...drop me a private message. I always enjoy meeting one of my readers!

Thanks.

Carlos

Town hall meetings erupting in anger everywhere!

I've been reading news reports and watching videos of town hall meetings erupting in anger everywhere lately.

The Democrats say it's a conspiracy. That right-wing groups are organizing these meetings and that the anger being expressed does not represent grass-root feelings but rather a small but vocal minority who is stirring things up to oppose progress.

But I have been watching the anger explode and have been reading countless comments left on news sites and blogs about what is going on and it's real folks.

Even IF it is organized which is very iffy...I say...so what! Are not the Democrats in Congress organized and trying to pass all kinds of bills down the throats of America?? To pass such legislation as quickly as possible before a ground swell of opposition makes it harder and harder to pass it?

It is not being organized that is the problem here, as if people that are organized are somehow less sincerely angry just because...well...just because they are organized.

Give me a break!

It is that politicians don't know what else to say when confronted by angry Americans who are fed up. It is relatively easy to wave the hand and ignore the rising tide of anger if one can dismiss it as the ramblings of a very few, right wing rabble rousers.

It is much harder for politicians to come to grips with the fact that many Americans, both Democrats and Republicans along with a bunch of Independents, are getting fed up with a government gone amok.

What I find especially interesting is that among all the comments I have read there is scant evidence of any support for what is happening in Congress regarding the attempt to ram the health bill into law as quickly as possible.

At the bottom of this post I have included a link to both a video (this time of an AARP meeting) and lots of comments to that video on the part of those who watched it.

It's rather...well...somewhat comforting to read the comments and realize that not all Americans are ignorant about the issues or unaware of the direction the U.S. is heading. A direction that more and more is causing our freedoms to go down the drain.

One comment especially impressed me....by someone named Houser...

Quote:
Watching this video and the others like it is giving me so much hope. Finally the silent majority is getting fed up enough to stand up and say “No More!”. The backbone of this country. The ones who make it all work. I often just feel so hopeless as I watch these politicians (of any party) push our great country further down the hole. We really are on the brink now. God bless all of you who are standing up and being heard.

That one gentleman in the video is absolutely right: this is about so much more than healthcare. This is about our freedom, our liberty. And if they get this bill in we are DOOMED. Have you read the bill? I have read most of it now, and I am scared to death. The new level of control over our lives is staggering- and this is just the beginning. Once these things have a toehold they only get worse and worse, never better.

Please get active. Please read the bill so you can see the truth about what they are doing. Don’t believe anyone else- read it yourself. A group of us are working together to read the bill piece by piece and distill the most troubling bits. If you can help out there it would be great. It is at: http://www.freemarketers.com

But please do something. This is the time to fight. Just stand and be heard. And thank you so much to all of you who already are.
The site indicated in the comment is outstanding by the way! It really goes into depth regarding some of the provisions contained in the health bill. It's a bit of an eye-opener.

It's especially relevant for me in that I am self-employed.

But for me personally the most encouraging thing about these town hall meetings and the comments made in response to this AARP meeting is the way so many Americans are standing against the tide that is engulfing us and taking away our freedoms and liberty!

Almost makes me wonder if the home of the free and the brave is still...well...just maybe, still the home of the free and brave.

Here's the link I promised...

UPDATE

Below is a link to a site where a blogger has gone in, read the whole health care bill, and analyzed it. But better yet...those who are in favor of the bill have been allowed to post negative comments about his analysis such that a give and take discussion ends up taking place.

I have to say that it can get downright confusing to make heads or tails about what the bill actually says and what it's implications, should it pass, are. And even which bill people should be reading since there are several bills floating around between the House and Senate.

It must be like trying to interpret the Bible correctly with respect to what it actually says. But, as in attempts to properly interpret the Bible...if one is persistant in reading what the text says and takes it at face value...I believe one can come to understand what it or in this case, the health bill is talking about to an extent neccessary to either have faith in God or support or oppose this health care bill.

The give and take discussion in the comments of this blog are well worth reading.

Better yet reading the bill itself is worth doing for many who may be concerned about what will happen if it passes. For me...I have no intention at this point of staying in the U.S. for longer than I have to, so what happens with respect to health care here and the erosion in freedom that is happening...does not really concern me as much as it does other Americans. I personally believe the U.S. has already gone beyond the point of no return such that things are going to get worse. Much worse here.

And that nothing I could do or say otherwise, will in the long run, make much of any difference here at all.

My heart is elsewhere. In living for the next life in heaven...not in this one.

So I won't take the time to read the bill myself in view of everything else I am involved in. But if any of you, my readers, are intent on remaining in the U.S. or can't help doing so...God help the U.S.A. if even half of what conservative bloggers are saying is actually contained within it.
