Laying to rest amongst the crickets...
I was always fascinated by crickets, when I was younger I remember catching them and putting them in the old applesauce jars to show mom and well, scare her. I remember when we used to put them in the basement and they would go nuts until the cats found them...
Now I listen to the crickets as they go into there high hum... Just the other night as I was sitting the living room of the old farmhouse I was relaxing after a day of chasing my four year old sister... I sat there on the couch with the front door open and I went off into a deep sleep to the sound of those crickets... I don't know how I could ever fall asleep without them... All summer I listen to there peaceful symphony as it guides me through the day... Every night it helps me fall asleep.
I sure do miss the days of capturing crickets, now it's all about enjoying there presence as well as the bull frogs on the pond...The sounds of nature, it's the Lords way of speaking to myself, briefly letting me know that everything will be alright...

Josh, I love the night sounds of the crickets too along with all the other nighttime "critters".. I like to open the window and listen to the frogs as I dift off to sleep..I love your blogs

awwww i love the sound they made when ever i was at my grandma's house .. i would like catch them and just listen to them for being a girl i didnt care i had to catch them scare my lil cousins mmm i loved your blog always enjoy reading it to Josh ....thanks for reminding me of old memories and new ones to come hugs from texas ... awww i feel better after reading your blog what a welcome after being away from city-data for awhile thanks ....Posted 09-02-2008 at 05:59 AM by brenda starz
