Time to Go

Posted 07-30-2009 at 04:20 AM by LookinForMayberry

I've tried to participate on these forums, but as usual, I get so frustrated with people's ignorance -- not stupidity, just plain ignorance, that I lose my calm.

It's my fault, not theirs. They cannot see it, and I am a failure at presenting what I see without being a rabid witch. No wonder I so well identify with the abandoned shelter dogs. Perhaps I, too, should be put down.

No one set me to be "Mighty Mouse" and I am certainly NOT here to save anyone's day. Still, I seem helpless to keep from lunging in to the attack whenever I encounter what I see as another blatantly ignorant behavior or thought. Even when I KNOW that I would be more effective with loving kindness, I cannot seem to control my rabid tendencies.

So, for the safety of all involved, I am gone. If I've helped anyone, perhaps God will forgive at least some of the hurts I've caused.

God's blessings to the many, many people that tried to be my friend. I did feel the kindness, and appreciated each deeply.

Bye.

I know how you feel. We who are control freaks due to circumstances in our lives beyond our control have a hard time dealing with people in loosing situations.
That makes us appear unloving and intolerant. The fact is, we say to ourselves. I made it why can't they? They are much better off than me!
In the end, we have to learn to tuck in our egos and be more humble and thank God for the blessings he has given us and pray for those who "just don't get it"
I am sorry you are leaving. Your stories have been so interesting, but perhaps they have not given you the "payoff" you were lpersonally hoping for. I totally understand.
I still hope some day we will be able to have a cup of tea together when you get back to WA.

Ah, lookin, I had wondered where you had gone. This is all part and parcel of what it means to be a part of an on-line community...in fact, some people seem to enjoy the arguments and back and forth. Communicating throught the written word can be tricky sometimes.....we cannot see a persons facial expressions, or hear their tone of voice. Its sometimes hard to communicate this way, and anonyminty emboldens some of us to be a bit more forthcoming than we would be face to face.
I very much enjoyed your posts, and the thought provoking issues you brought up. I really hope you continue to contribute to the blog. Please reconsider, and come back!
