My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego | List of Best Posts
This blog is where I express myself to the world or at least to those who might stop by to read what I post . Maybe God will use what I post (I am a Christian and this blog will have a most decidedly Christian bent to it) to good effect in the lives of my readers.

I may turn some of my posts into a book. I may cease blogging here altogether. Who knows. But for now..I am content to post away in this, my own little corner of the world.

Rather than reading through my now lengthy list of posts you may wish to read what I consider to be my very best posts or you can just read the posts that deal with a single subject category that might interest you.

Please know that I am open to any input on any topic I write about. If you have something to say about anything you see written here please....feel free to speak up in the form of leaving a comment or sending me a PM (private message).

And if you are in San Diego and wish to meet the one and only Carlos (that's me )...drop me a private message. I always enjoy meeting one of my readers!

Thanks.

Carlos

Has the world gone stark raving mad?

First there is the continuing plight of Honduras trying to do what is right by it's laws against an onslought of public opinion that it has done wrong and that democracy is under attack there.

The President of Honduras was the one acting out of line with the law of the land. Not the other way around.

It would be as if Obama went outside of the law to provide for an election that would allow him to run for as many terms as he might like to eventually run. Completely bypassing established laws about how our democracy works.

What would Americans do about that? Would we stand by and do nothing? Would we turn over and just take it?

If the Congress, the Senate, the Supreme Court and every other public body was against President Obama going outside the law to promote his own agenda and potentially plunge the country into a dictatorship of almost unimaginable consequences would not Americans clamour for the military here to do something...if they were the only one's that could take on an Obama Administration bent on it's own pursuits at the expense of the country?

You bet we would!

Yet when it comes to little Honduras trying to do just that...Obama and countless other countries internationally insist that the former President should be resinstated to continue his bid for dictatorship along the lines of that of Hugo Chavez in Venezuela because...well...just because I guess. I don't rightly know.

Has the world gone stark raving mad?

Here's more on the situation in Honduras...O'Grady: Honduras at the Tipping Point - WSJ.com

The title of this next article is "US lurching towards 'debt explosion' with long-term interest rates on course to double" (US lurching towards 'debt explosion' with long-term interest rates on course to double - Telegraph).

If long term interest rates double the U.S. will be plunged into an economic crises. It will find itself unable to pay it's debts and will be plunged into yet a greater recession if not outright depression.

The U.S. government continues almost in unchecked fashion to spend and spend and spend. And with all that spending it is all but certain that our taxes will go up and up and up until the day we die.

California and it's present inability to come up with money to service it's debts and obligations such that it will shortly start issuing paper IOU's is almost certainly where the U.S. is headed in the near future.

Money doesn't grow on trees folks. It is already probably too late but the U.S. government simply must not...cannot continue to spend and spend and spend as if money does indeed grow on trees. No matter how much we need health care or we need to supposedly tax the carbon footprint of businesses who contribute to our supposed man-made global warming as a way of motivating them to behave environmentally.

I still need new shoes and it would be nice if I could just go out and spend money on a new haircut and eat at Hometown Buffet every day too...but my needing or wanting to do that doesn't mean that I can go out and spend money I don't have.

Unlike the U.S. government I can't just print more money. They can and do and in turn the perceived value of those pieces of fancy paper that we call dollars is plunging in the eyes of the world.

Yet the U.S. government continues to spend and our politicians continue to do business as usual as if things are not really as bad as they are.

In this case the question is not "Has the world gone stark raving mad?" but rather "When will the U.S. government stop spending our money like a drunkard spending his food stamps on booze?". With little weight given to the long term consequences of it's irresponsible spending.

Of course all this overspending of paper money is resulting in other countries beginning to seriously wonder if the U.S. dollar should continue to be used a reserve currency for world transactions.

Russia, India Question Dollar Reliance Before Summit (Update2) - Bloomberg.com

Honestly I am beginning to wonder if the things that are coming down the pike for the U.S. and the world in general will not serve to set us up for not only a one world government but also for the kind of political environment in which someone like an anti-Christ can end up getting into power.

Looking back on history it seems that evil dictators have always tended to rise to power when carried along by the waves of bad times.

So has the world gone stark raving mad? It sure looks like it is heading that way if it is not there quite yet and there is very little if anything that any of us can do about it.

Other than get right with God, seek Him personally, and live according to His will for our lives with the remaining time we have on this Earth.

Carlos

UPDATE

I just read a piece by Pat Buchanan (who I don't always agree with by the way but who quite often writes some excellent analysis of world events) who calls into question Obama's tendency to side with leftist wannabe's or outright dictators. It's worth reading for I think in this case Pat Buchanan is right on respecting Obama's and the rest of the world's reactions to the Honduran government ousting their former President who was turning into another Chavez type dictator (Hands Off Honduras! - HUMAN EVENTS).

It's not that I think what is happening in Honduras is all that world shaking (and no I was not born there). It's that I am absolutely astounded, perhaps incredulous is a better word, at the foolish way in which so many are jumping on the bandwagon of condeming what Honduras did in putting their ex-President on a plane and booting him out of the country.

What the reaction of the world and the oh so supposedly enlightened epitome and fountain of worldly wisdom, the United Nations, says about the state of the world is quite telling I think.

Sadly, I think you are so right regarding our world. God is definitely the only answer for today.

Hi malfunction. Welcome to my blog (well...at least welcome based on your first comment at my blog, to my memory).

You know in one sense it's a good thing for those of us who have eyes to see the madness the world is descending into. Where lies become truth and where evil is promoted as good. Where black is now grey and where white is now...well...all but nonexistant.

In seeing we can chose to sink into despair or look square into the face of God and His truth and truly and I mean truly determine in our hearts to live for the next life. Banking everything on what we say we believe as being actually true.

That can be a good thing. A needful thing even. For too many of us have lived in wanton self-centered pursuits for far too long while giving only lip service to God and His ways.

As they say there is nothing better than some persecution to weed out the true believers from the false. In a similar vein coming to grips with the madness the world is descending into can serve to help us let go of our attachment and hope in this life and place it where Jesus Christ said it should be. In the next.

I am not saying at all that we should become so heavinly minded that we cease to be of any earthly good. Not at all.

Only that in view of our soon departure from this world, and all of us living will soon be departed in that even 50 years left for us who are young is as nothing in the span of time, we need to keep ever in mind the eternal consequences or lack of to our actions and the choices we make today.

What is really going to count? That house I long for? That fancier car? That fatter bank account? That expensive vacation?

All these type of things may be good in and of themselves but in the span of eternity and from an eternal perspective with respect to what is really valuable...such things mean absolutely nothing.

If that is so then persons who are focused on living for eternity and for the will of God should not invest in such things as though this life is it in terms of the end all and be all of life and what is worth attaining.

What we give our time to, the decisions we make, and what we do in our lives should reflect the truth that God is, that we will shortly come to the end of our lives, and that only what we do for Him and for the eternal good of our fellow man will last.
