The crusher left on May 6, 2009, but it will never be forgotten. The hell we went through was unbearable and what we want everyone to understand is that it can come back any time Knife River Corp decides they want to and I am sure that they will have the full blessing of the Republican Idaho goverment. We are still putting up with the back up beeps from the equipment loading the gravel into trucks....and the awful noise at the crusher site where they are still loading gravel. So, all is not peace and quiet just yet and won't be for months. At least they aren't making noise late at night or on the weekends.
We have decided that if no land use and planning and zoning come into view in the near future we are going to move to a civilized location in another state. This sort of thing happens in many places in Idaho (not just Idaho County). But the worst of it is here.
One of our neighbors is putting his home on the market this week with another one to follow along with us within a year.
It is so sad that at least 3 retired couples in their 60's and 70's have to move because of the State of Idaho and Idaho County don't care about the health and welfare of the State/County Citizens. The 3 of us couples have been here ranging from 3 to 9 years.
More to follow later......
