Untilted
Confusion reigns in this storm-tossed sea.
Life revolves around me so quickly.
What to think, what to do, which way to go;
I think I'm right, but how do I know?
The winds howl and blow this way and that.
I get turned around and don't know where I'm at.
I'm up, then down, taken for a loop;
This rollercoaster of life isn't always a hoot.
My thoughts get jumbled, my emotions get raw.
I can't always get beyond what I saw.
Images are ingrained, not to be forgot,
Even when they cause me to become distraught.
Where can I turn to get shelter from rain
And unload all of my burdens and pain?
Where can I go to once again
Find the balance, the quiet, in my mind to frame?
Loss is ever present, always near, never far away.
Gain is hoped for, sought after, and achieved,
But doesn't necessarily always stay.
Legacy is cherished, but how will mine be perceived?
I've experienced life, its ebbs and flows.
From fierce storms to peacful tranquillity
I've made choices on which direction to go.
How they'll turn out only He really knows.
I can venture a guess, but a guess is all it would be.
I couldn't really say with absolute certainty.
All I can say is with each and every opportunity
I've done my best to follow The Light to a harbor of safety.

What a compassionate poem..I turn to prayer first ,then writing when emotions, good,bad, painful or joyful overwhelm me..I think you do too

i'm glad you can say you did your best. on the other hand, some of us have regrets..... and have to learn from mistakes, rather than doing its due diligence......and being too alone, that's how things go wrong....but yeah, God is a safe harbor even from that.Posted 08-11-2008 at 04:40 PM by 2bpurrfect
