Ok. This is my first time getting a ticket. Its stupid how I got it, but I just wanted to know if anything bad will happen. I was pull over and the cop came over to my car. He ask me for my driver license and car insurance. I show him my driver license but could not find my car insurance. So he went back to his car with my driver license and came back with a ticket. But I was able to find my insurance and, he told me that he can't do nothing about it because it's was already process. So I wanted to know if I can do something about it because I don't want to pay the fine.

Generally, you have 15 days to make an appt to appearin court to fight the ticket or to pay it. If you do nothing a warrant will go out for your arrest.
I go a similar ticket in Seattle. The insurance card was in a bag of papers I kept under my car seat. The officer stopped me in an akward place and would not let me get out of the car so I could reach under the seat.
I made the appt and went in before the magistrate, showed him my ins card and he dismissed the ticket. Here is the rub. It cost me $25.00 for the administration fee to cancel the ticket, plus $8.00 to park, plus gas for the 60 mile round trip from my home to seattle plus 1/2. day off from work. It may be different where you live.Posted 05-28-2009 at 02:57 PM by yukiko11
