Wow, I get a review before NOAA releases theres!
The wetter and warmer weather pattern that began in March 2009 continued thorughout April. The first 11 days of the month were cooler than normal which I could not believe after having a warm March. We had some pretty nice downpoors on the morning of the 12th, with the storm event on the 16th, 17th, and 18th (the greatest one of the month), and one final storm system ten days later on the 26th, 27th, and 28th. These strom events were interrupted by a couple days of nice, warm, sunny weather. The month ended cloudier than normal on the last 8 days, making this year's april cloudier and wetter than last year's.
The temperatures that began cooler than normal in the first third of the month underwent a warming trend as the rain and clouds increased in the last two-thirds of the month, creating the greenhouse effect during the night and raising the humidity during the day. The month ended 1.2 degrees above the normal monthly average, almost a degree cooler than last year's. Also, the rainfall was 2.05 inches, fairly normal comparing to the 2.60 in. average, however, not a dry april like last year's or a very wet one like in 2007.
May is coming up, our wettest month on average! Hopefully it lives up to its repuataion and continues this two month wetter trend! We shall see my fellow San Antonio residents!
