Well this is my first attempt at a blog. I think I will start with general ramblings of daily interests for me and my life. Not that I think people should care about my life, but who knows something I say might help someone else. Sometimes it is nice to know you aren't alone.

Writing.... gets ones nose out of joint.

I haven’t written in my blog in a very long time. Guess I haven’t been too inspired.

Today I have many thoughts on my mind and I hope I can express them well enough to all some who care to enjoy my odd sense of written to understand and maybe get some others to think about things.

I have noticed that many times on many bulletin boards on the many websites including C-D that people tend to write things they don’t mean as a direct attack or insult but someone else always manages to take it as a personal assault – whether the comment was aimed at them or not.

When has writing gone to the dogs? I am neither the best with a pen nor a computer with a word processor (like I use currently). In fact if you knew my medical troubles you would understand some of my faux pas or disjunctional thoughts. So if I am not the best at writing with emotional fervor as to not offend anyone’s psyche, then why should anyone take such words upon a screen written by a total stranger to such heart?

I have written comments I believe were noncommittal or in a fashion to conclude certain arguments. Only to have my words and meaning misused and mixed around then used against me. I try not to take to personal a hit on such writings yet it is hard not to feel the sting of spite in some writings when your phrases are pulled out for scrutiny. Now this it not to say I don’t expect some examination in my writing.

Here is the rub, as it were. Our public writing as a whole has gone to the dogs in such a way that we stopped taking time to think about our words and their effect on others. This has been a bit of a pet peeve of mine for years. Why do we as a ‘superior’ race with supposed intelligence all words to control our life and emotions? Just the simple word ‘You’ can cause pandemonium in some individuals when pointing out something as simple as “you misquoted that phrase it should read” The phrase is simple and meant to be helpful yet the usage of the word “you” makes it accusatory.

There are so many other words that are taken out of context on message boards. Why are our passions so inflamed by writings not meant to harm but to inform? What is that old adage about getting ones nose out of joint? Is it really worth the trouble and stress to allow someone we don’t really know to control our emotions to such an extent as to point our noses out of joint.
