Let the countdown begin, days before move -7

I've been looking at apartments online for several months. For the past two months I've been calling for applications and get more information. That is when I came across City-Data.com. I've been posting in the Wisconsin-Madison forum to get more info. I had some good replies. Such as I should visit apartmentratings.com before signing a lease and the poor apartments are usually the ones priced under $550. If I want a decent apartment, I should go for the higher prices,
One apartment has approved my application and accepted my credit report. It got mixed reviews. Granted, there were only 11 comments, half for and half against. Problem is that I really don't have a big choice. I need a roof over my head. Period.
I've been qouted that the price is $600 and deposit is $300. However, as a move-in special, the first month is half-price. So it will help me save some money. That money will help me buy necessities needed when I arrive.
I've worked at Wal-Mart for 11yrs and requested a transfer within the company to Madison. The two stores in Madison, say they've been impacted by new stores too much and won't accept my transfer.
The third try is the Supercenter in Monona. Things sound hopeful. There is a full time position in Jewelry dept. While I am currently in stationary, I did work in Jewelry for several years. I would really like to go back to Jewelry again...but then this is the worst season to work in stationary...back to school.
I will hear for certain of the transfer on tuesday...four days before I get on the bus.
Next Friday is the day I get on the bus and is my last day in the Texas heat.
