Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Benefits Of God In the Psalms - 1

Posted Today at 03:25 PM by Albert Finch

The enemy continues to try to bring disgrace and discredit the people of God through spiritual blindness – blindness that is caused by the lack of looking and gazing into the face of God as a regular exercise of intimate worship or the lack of CONFESSING and MEDITATING on the Scriptures to find food for the soul and nourishment for the spiritual eyes.

As a communion with God in praise and worship, affirm out loud each of the below "Psalm verse affirmations" 5 times per day. Also, use them as a prayerful meditation as you go throughout the day.

If I meditate on God's Word, all that I do will prosper. (Psalm 1:2,3)

God is a shield about me. (Psalm 3:3)

I am not afraid of ten thousands of people for the Lord sustains me. (Psalm 3:6)

In peace I will both lie down and sleep; four you alone, O Lord, makes me dwell in safety. (Psalm 4:8)

My shield is with God who saves the upright in heart. (Psalm 7:10)

The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble, And I know Your name and put my trust in you, O Lord, You have not forsaken me since I seek You. (Psalm 9:9-10)

I will sing to the Lord because He has dealt bountifully with me, I have trusted in His steadfast love; My heart shall rejoice in His salvation. (Psalm 13:5-6)

I bless the Lord who gives me counsel. (Psalm 16:7)

I keep the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. He shows me the path of life -- in Your presence, there is fullness of joy. In Your right hand are pleasures for evermore. (Psalm 16:8,11)
