Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Staying The Course

Posted Yesterday at 08:54 AM by Albert Finch

"That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. - Ephesians 3:17-19

EMBRACING CHANGE AND EXPERIENCING TRANSITION

As believers, we are rooted and grounded in His magnificent love. Because we are established in His love, we have a peace that passes our understanding. And we have courage, the depth of which is confidence in the Lord. We cannot trust in our own reasoning. Instead, today we declare that we will, “Trust in the LORD with all [our] heart, and lean not on [our] own understanding; in all [our] ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct [our] paths” (Prov. 3:5-6).

Through Him, peace is established deep within us, causing us to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that He will lead us and guide us. He will lead us down our paths! This place of trust is beyond the usual ability of a person. It comes only through a relationship with the Lord, who will lead us and bring to pass all that He has purposed for us (our DESTINY).

As we are directed by Him, we can also be assured that He is making every path straight. This work of the Lord is unseen to us, as He is in our days ahead of us, dealing with adversaries of opposition and delays that would hinder us from the open doors and gates that He has pre-ordained for us.

This knowledge enables a courage deep within and causes us to be so anchored in His love, flowing into and through our heart, that our hearts and minds are steadfast. Thus, we will reach a place of focus that comes from being led by the Lord.

HOLY PERSEVERANCE

Our perseverance must be innate and sustained by faith, not a fruit of self-determination. Holy perseverance is God-empowered boldness or courage that enables us—deep within—to persevere in God's PURPOSE for our life. One way we can define perseverance is simply “to STAY THE COURSE.” This is a powerful blessing from the Lord that enables us to believe the impossible is possible. It is a work of the Holy Spirit within that enables us to have strength to stay the course, regardless of present circumstances or situations. This is what the prophet Isaiah wrote about:

"Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice." - Isaiah 41:10 AMP

In this passage, the Lord promises to be with us, to strengthen us, to keep us, and to hold us in a place of victory. The Hebrew meaning of the word strengthen is:

a) to be strong, brave, bold

b) to strengthen, secure (for oneself), harden (heart), make firm, make obstinate, assure

c) to be determined, to make oneself alert, strengthen oneself, confirm oneself, persist in, prove superior to

d) to exhibit strength, be strong, feel strong
We get ready for God to move us out of the confines and limitations of what we have experienced in the past. Here’s the incredible assurance: You can STAY THE COURSE because of the enabling of the strength of the Lord for you and in you!

We believe for the Holy Spirit to release an even greater strengthening deep within us so that we will bear fruit that remains for God’s Kingdom, advancing our CALLING in Christ.

As we seek His presence with a mindset of nothing is impossible as we go from strength to strength with deep courage since we are possessed by the fire of the Holy Spirit.
