Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.
What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.
Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)
"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)
"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)
"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)
"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

We need to rely on the resurrection life of Jesus on a much deeper level than we do now. We are to "walk in the light as He is in the light." - 1 John 1:7. There is a resurrection power working in us now. Our spirit has been raised from the dead already (see Romans 6:3).
Christians must now use their resurrection authority to raise souls of this earth back from spiritual atrophy and the dead sins that have blinded hopeless lives for too long!
Luke 6:7-8 "And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him. 8But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth."
Jesus says “rise up”. Rise up is the root word for RESURRECTION. We need to get up higher than our current perception. We need to come to a place where we are looking at things from a more inspired viewpoint.
We leap forward and find ourselves cooperating with the Holy Spirit as He moves us into higher and more efficient states of mind so we become a risk taker and get out of the boat and walk on the water.
As we use this "Resurrection Power," it will stop the enemy from influencing Believers to settle for "crumbs" of the Lord's goodness rather than bearing fruit that remains for God’s advancing Kingdom through their Christ calling.
We have that same Spirit of God, His "Resurrection Power," indwelling within us to transform this earth into God's Kingdom now and for eternity.
AFFIRMATIONS:
My zeal and passion will rise in a new way.
I listen for the instruction of the Holy Spirit regarding fruit bearing for His Kingdom through my Christ calling.
God is advancing me forward -- even into a place of glory, I've not known.
The light God that is beginning to burn in me will draw many fish to me.
