Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.
What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.
Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)
"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)
"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)
"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)
"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Penetrating The Veil Of The Ordinary

Matthew 5:13,14,16 -- "You are the salt of the earth......You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."
Since the moment we first came to Christ, there has been an updraft of the Holy Spirit, a constant drawing from God lifting us upward toward the fullness of His Presence. Let's surrender to this wind of God and allow Him to carry us into our holy future (our DESTINY).
We are to become history-makers and world-changers. God has determined the exact time of our births. Truly, each one of us is in the Kingdom for such a time as this (see Esther 4:14). We were placed on earth for a special assignment (our calling in Christ). (Ephesians 2:10).
TAKING ACTION
The disciples did not just pray and sit around waiting for God to enter the "playing field" to convert the world on His own. They went out into the world so that the Holy Spirit might go into the World.
"The Lord worked with them." - Mark 16:20
RE-CREATED AND DESTINED FOR VICTORY
The cry of no hesitation has gone forth. You are to arise, walk in your Christ identity, and lay a hold of your calling in Christ so you can begin to bear fruit that remains for God’s Kingdom. This is not a time to be weak and waffling, but rather a time to understand that you are bold and brave. You are confident, brave, and very courageous (Joshua 1:7); the Spirit of God calls you to demonstrate your willingness to help new believers with their spiritual lives.
Listen, with your whole heart, the voice of the Lord is speaking; He delights to give you the Kingdom (Luke 12:32). God has promised victory! You are called to be the head and not the tail. The Holy Spirit who lives within you is greater than the spirit that is at work in the world (1 John 4:4). You are re-created and destined for victory; now is the time to shake yourself up, and declare the proclamation found in Micah 3:8, "Truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the Lord!"
We are a part of a people God has produced to penetrate the veil of the ordinary. We are a golden, holy storehouse of God's potential. We have the life in us to liberate literally the entire world.
