Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.
What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.
Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)
"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)
"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)
"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)
"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Ephesians 3:20–21: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations,"
You come to understand that your future comes from God’s possibilities and from His potential, not the world’s. His potential and all of His promises of possibility flow through the Holy Spirit into you, and He will strengthen you with His might to accomplish those things, to be who you are called to be, to do what you are called to do (God's PURPOSE for your life), and to have what you are promised to have.
Basking in His presence and power you are empowered to live above your natural ability.
You are enabled to live in the Spirit and by the Spirit—cultivating, nurturing, and discipling new believers into their Christ identity – thereby living the crucified lifestyle inside the word. This results in His gifts and the fruit of His Spirit continually increasing and flowing with rivers of His goodness that provide all you need for life and godliness as you are bearing fruit that remains for His Kingdom.
His presence is also a place of genuine hunger for the Word of God, hunger for fresh bread from the Word every day. There the Word comes alive and mysteries are revealed as the Word becomes like fire in the bones. Within you arises a holy boldness to decree the Word of God that changes lives and circumstances, shifting the unseen realm and breaking down every barrier of the enemy with the power of the Word.
