Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.
What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.
Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)
"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)
"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)
"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)
"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Becoming The Encounter

"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole." - Isaiah 53:5 AMP
If the Church will consecrate itself and begin to corporately step out to reach the lost in this hour, it will serve as a powerful wave that unleashes world-wide revival. This is a call to "become the encounter" the world so desperately needs.
Right now, God is looking for firebrands: people who will do whatever it takes to have a burning bush encounter. In order to "become the encounter," you must expect to catch fire -- in order to catch fire, you must give God your burning bush consciousness to burn (Matthew 7:8).
It is the spirit of praise and worship that draws the glory-presence of God on the earth. Praise and worship and advancing God’s Kingdom go together – they create the catalyst for public displays of repentance and effective evangelism and the desire for teaching.
Personally, we are being called to host God's presence. This comes by pressing into God not just for a momentary encounter, but an encounter that leaves us changed forever. God is interested in marking those that will step up to the plate with His presence and power for the greatest harvest and personal discipling we've ever seen.
When we preach that the Kingdom of God is at hand, we must trust that with this comes, discipling believers into their Christ identity, the healing of the sick, the raising of the dead, the cleansing of the lepers, and the casting out of devils (see Matthew 10:8). This requires courageous lovers of God to fearlessly "light themselves on fire."
Expect to see an abundance of great grace, strength, and faith being imparted to you when you resolve to take new land and emancipate yourself from small limited thinking as you encounter higher realms of God's presence.
Expect to move from glory to glory as you see new manifestations in the realm of miracles, signs and wonders, and divine appointments to minister to unbelievers in public everywhere you go.
