Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Looks Like Someone Had --- Shall I Say, Overdone It....

What I witnessed shortly after sitting down to an afternoon dinner at a nearby Mexican restaurant does happen. I just would not have expected it to happen when it did.

Your writer was about to have a Mexican food feast at La Hacienda Ranch when two ladies about fifty feet away at a corner table were finishing up their consumption experience. I don't know what they ate, but I found out from the wait staff what they had to drink! As I saw something strange when one of the ladies appeared to be peering under the table (later finding out that she was throwing up!), and then the two were found to be struggling just to try to walk out of the restaurant. They had to pass by my table and dang near ended up on it while walking by (well, as it were). One of them appeared half-drunk but the other one was as plastered as I've seen anyone. This is the type of thing which usually happens at 3 a.m., not p.m.

Plastered. Stinkin'.

What happened was, the two ladies had taken advantage of La Hacienda's half-price margarita special. Yep, that'll do it.

Well, afterward, the wait staff did apologize, but thankfully, there was no incident at my table after the two ladies were finally gone. Yes, someone else was going to give them a ride because there couldn't have been any way either could have driven away without their vehicle veering off the concrete. Ol' Case got through his meal just fine, with my own car intact.

Man, life can sure be adventurous.

My goodness! If they actually would have landed on your table, would you have snapped a picture of it?
