Well...it happened...may be forced to retire and have -0- in savings
I didn't think it would happen so suddenly..
I will begin to collect SS next month
$2900/month....thought that I would use that entire SS payment towards
paying off my massive debt...Instead..I may have to use to live off it.
The owner of the company that I've worked for 43 years decided to sell the Business...It was just like that...from one day to the other...Not really a hint that that would happen so suddenly.
5 of my co-workers were let go immediately;some of them had been here over 30 years.
I wasn't let go;but I assume they will get rid of as soon as they use me for whatever purposes during the accomodation phase. At age 66. and semi-handicapped ;the possibilities of me getting another job are not good. Plus after so long working for the same people I honestly don't feel like I can ever work for anybody else...and I can't retire.
I have absolutely -0- savings,IRA,etc. I'm in debt
$85000(I was making great progress since last year until I encountered medical debt);just 2 members of family 3500 miles away.
$2900 a month will barely cover my rent and debt payments in Miami...and I only pay under half the current market rate for my apartment...
It looks grim...I should have died at the nursing home.
