Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Anticipating A Huge Grand Opening In Frisco

Posted 09-18-2022 at 08:02 PM by case44

As I write this post, that date is now three days away and counting. And if you're in Frisco, Texas, then you have to be chomping at the bit. Better still, if you live in or near Frisco, and have had some kind of residency in other parts of Texas where an H-E-B grocery store just happened to be located, then you'd be salivating big enough to fill the Guadalupe River.

Yes, sports fans, H-E-B is opening in Frisco this coming Wednesday. As a matter of fact, when I drove by the location a few days ago, there were people parked in the parking lot. I saw two different cars driving out of that same parking lot. It's got to be high anticipation levels on the radar screen of these people's lives.

Look, we're all anxious for the opening day of a very successful Texas business and a grocer who will give longtime Dallas-Fort Worth stalwarts a run for their money. This writer plans to go in as soon as he can, likely on Wednesday night as I have other plans for earlier that evening, and make my very first visit. Might come out of there with a few things for the abode kitchen.

The earlier I can go in, the better I can make it.

Well, there were just too many people and cars in the parking lot. Couldn't find a parking place amidst so much traffic.

It's okay. I'll hold it back a few more days and then try again. Sooner or later, the crowds will thin out a little....
