Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Case's Vacation Journal: Pet Wonders And Faux Pimps
Posted 05-19-2022 at 06:04 PM by case44
It's actually amazing the things you see in everyday life. And vacation time can actually see even the slightest of events turn the humdrum into something memorable.
Not that vacation was actually humdrum, mind you.![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Two things gleaned from this latest excursion into Corpus Christi: First glean was seeing me stopped at a stoplight and there was a bearded man sitting on a bench with a homeless sign. He didn't look all that bad, but it's possible that he may have been looking for comic relief. Such may have been the case if you'd only had the opportunity to read what his sign said. It said: "I NEED $$$,.........BUT I'M TOO UGLY TO BE A HOOKER".
I would have taken out my camera to get a picture (he was to my right and also two lanes over from where I was), except that the light turned green. Couldn't stay to snap it.
The other glean was the next day at breakfast, and I'd stopped in at Corpus Christi's Town & Country Restaurant. Now, to set you up for the next bit, I'll preface: When you enter the restaurant, you see a posted handwritten sign saying "NO DOGS ALLOWED". It implied pets overall, but did say DOGS, now. So I had breakfast. Upon departing for the parking lot, as I headed out the door, lo and behold, a black cat approached the door. It looked like it was trying to get in. Seriously. So, I manipulated the door to make sure that the cat could not get in. Guess that furry feline wanted a glass of milk and gleefully saw the "NO DOGS ALLOWED" sign.![Big Grin](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
And what was incredible about both incidents even still? They both happened on the same street! That's right. Both life happenings happened on Alameda Street in Corpus Christi. You can't make this up.
Good times when Case goes on the road.

Too bad you didn't get a hot blonde with a completely different situation.
I want to go see that new bay bridge.
