Is anyone else noticing an uptick in people who are either looking for whatever cash anyone will give them or passing out pamphlets for whatever? They seem to be everywhere now around here, Providence Road, Sardis Road, Monroe Road, South Blvd, Independence Blvd, Park Road, etc.
While panhandlers are nothing new, I am noticing more and more of them throughout town and more of them getting brazen with their tactics. In other words, they're not just standing in the medians, they're walking up to windows and walking in-between traffic lanes while traffic is moving! It's scary, it's bad enough that drivers are distracted with their phones and you've got bicyclists and motorcycles who think rules of the road don't apply to them. Now add on crazy people walking into the street hoping to snag that loose change from your car console.
