Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Circle K Making Inroads In The Lubbock Area
Something was a common sight in Lubbock, America, as I looked around the place like a good Texas traveler should. Dirt is turning in many places in the Hub City. Houses are going in at a record pace for that area. Construction continues for many businesses getting started in many locations.
But amongst all the hubbub in the Hub , there was a frequent commonality. The signs in about six places proved it.
Circle K convenience stores and gas stations are being sprinkled into the Lubbock landscape. This was a common sight on my recent Hub City trip. The chain is making bigger inroads across Texas (including my hometown Dallas/Fort Worth area), and Lubbock is just the latest. As more people visit or live in the area, the demand will increase for people to stop and get gasoline or a cold drink. It will be interesting to see what petroleum brand Circle K locations in Lubbock will take on once the chain gets their stores opened up. Right now, Stripes aligns with Phillips 66, as does most United grocery stores. I haven't seen any Sunoco stations in Lubbock (at least, not yet) like I have in other Texas locales, but Conoco and Chevron still loom for a possible hookup. Circle K in D/FW currently partners with Valero, but in Lubbock, Valero is pretty much on its own.
The first of Lubbock's Circle K locations are mostly west and south, and it happens to include one on the outside of what will become State Loop 88. How about that?? After this first round, we should expect more locations to pop up in other parts of the city.
There's a reason this is being pointed out. This is, after all, City-Data, where things like this happen.
I'll keep you posted here for any happenings, and there will be information on the Lubbock In The Loop site. Those of you in that region might want to check that out. Lubbock continues to grow, folks. We can only speculate on what comes next.

Was there a few weeks back, and it seemed like you couldn’t miss those if you tried. The AZ-based business has been expanding a lot in TX, even though I feel like it’s been here forever, as opposed to QuikTrip (maybe they’re soon to follow in the Hub City?).
They may not be as exciting as a close-to-nine-tenths-of-a-billion-dollar Leprino factory or the latest sports facilities (gridiron+diamond-related) at TTU that could top out at $53-$63M combined, but they illustrate the growth of the city.Posted 10-25-2021 at 06:24 AM by shoe01

Don't be too surprised if QuikTrip eventually makes a move on Lubbock, shoe. I think it's a few years off, but if places like Wolfforth and Shallowater experience a growth spurt, then such expansion will be worth looking for. Circle K has been mostly in and out of Texas, but this time, it's coming back in and will likely be here to stay. In Lubbock, five of the six projected locations will be outside of Loop 289, with the northwest location on Slide the only one inside of it.
