Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

What To Expect If San Francisco Wins The World Series
The San Francisco Giants have spent the 2021 season as Major League Baseball's biggest surprise, amassing the league's best win-loss record up to this point in the campaign. Suddenly, they are a big contender for the big prize come October.
Obviously, they'll need to get through the playoffs and face the best team the American League will be offering should they get to the World Series, whether that be the Houston Astros, the Tampa Bay Rays, the Chicago White Sox, or, perhaps, the Boston Red Sox. And the National League won't have any slouches during the playoffs, as there will be the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Atlanta Braves. No doubt, the Giants have found some success with some players who I feel have overachieved this year, denying up-and-coming San Diego's Padres a real opportunity at contending in the NL West.
Now, here's the problem: San Francisco used to be one of America's most beautiful cities. For many, there are several locales there which used to offer a picture-worthy keepsake. In recent years, however, it has been torn apart by bad politics and even worse policies that have plagued them. If San Fran actually goes on and wins the World Series, then there's going to be a parade in that city. Question is, how are the powers that be going to hide all of the really bad things going on in the downtown area and near it?? Businesses no longer fully occupy the area. A high-rise business office is sinking and continues to sink, literally, into the ground. Hundreds of homeless people and other stragglers have been allowed to camp out in the area. Do you know what those people do in those streets? They defacate. That's right, folks. They're not politely going into area hotels and shops trying to find a toilet. They're just pooping away in the parking lots and along once-busy sidewalks. That's why I call San Francisco San Fecesco. How the heck are parade-goers going to work their ways around that potpourri of poopery,
given San Francisco's deserved down-trodden perception? Worse still, how can anyone attend any kind of a parade when that downtown looks like a Third World country?
Part of me hopes the Giants lose during the playoffs and have Atlanta or Milwaukee get into the World Series (Honestly, nobody in California deserves to go until they jettison embattled governor Gavin Gruesome Newsom out of office and change the politics in their large cities.). And if they pull it off, then I hope the national media will shed some light on those poopers in the streets to show the world how bad it is in the City by the toil......er, Bay.
You know, if my Astros and Dusty Baker get denied a title, then something good has to come out of this to show America that the left has all but destroyed San Francisco. California should be embarrassed.

Case, I honestly don't think Cali is a good place to visit or do any business in right now.
And you didn't mention my Cardinals; they still have a good chance at a Wild Card berth!Posted 09-21-2021 at 04:37 PM by malfunction -
Now, SF has bigger issues than pee-pee. They've got to deal with looters who are savaging as many department stores and drug stores as they can, and without consequence. Bad mayors and the Democrats' intentions of chasing police officers out of jobs has made life miserable in the Bay Area. Walgreen's and CVS are reportedly closing locations due to the looting and vandalism and thievery, and that will make it very hard for those needing prescriptions promptly. Now, folks will have to drive further distances to get needs meet.
In addition, various department stores are also dealing with losses from the rampant rise in crime. All this is going to eventually hurt San Francisco's regional economy in epic proportions. But, alas, SF's ignorant mayor, London Breed, seems to be just fine with all this: https://californiaglobe.com/articles...ause-of-crime/
