Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

It Felt Good To Be Back With A Texas Tradition
Posted 09-04-2021 at 07:52 PM by case44
Thursday and Friday nights, starting this week, are feeling good again. Why not? At this time of the year, Texas high schools have a tradition, and it's good to see things opened up for the public once again.
Your writer had the great privilege of seeing his first in-person high school football game since the CCP spread their bundle of COVID misery all over the world. That scene caused fans to be kept away and school districts limited attendance to some immediate family members last year. Not so now, and I'm smiling. Normalcy is back.
Although a few games were cancelled hither and thether due to some small outbreaks, many folks got their games in with no problem and many students got to cheer on their alma maters. In Frisco, Texas, that's a good thing to be part of. But then, any place in Texas would provide a good opportunity to unwind and see traditions unfold.
COVID, SCHMOVID. Let's enjoy some Friday night fun.![OK](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/oglvvd.gif)
After all, football in Texas is still a religion. I'll be checking out a new venue in a couple of weeks and also watch an up-and-coming Prosper school district showcase their great students. If you live in that area, then you need to check out Prosper High School's campus layout, especially their practice football field with a great backdrop of the field house. Classic stuff. Looks a lot like SMU if you've ever seen that campus in Dallas.
At any rate, high school gridiron is back, and Ol' Case will take in a few games in the next couple of months. And, as you might expect, storylines are being written now.
