Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Scripture Of The Day - August 23, 2021

Posted 08-23-2021 at 02:07 PM by Albert Finch

"You also, as living stones are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." - 1 Peter 2:5

Our cry for a fresh experience of God is at the core of being open to believe for something NEW.

Brick by brick, life by life, God is creating a kingdom, a "spiritual house.

The Holy Spirit gives assignments to people, "to each according to each one's unique ability (Matthew 25:15). As He calls, He equips. To discover this assignment we must be open to something NEW.

We have an uncommon Christ calling to an uncommon life. "The Spirit has given each of us a special way of serving others" (1 Corinthians 12:7). We are to "Kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you" (2 Timothy 1:6)

We have built up in our reasoning faculties lots of support for not being convinced that NEW things can happen, even if we deeply want them to.

OBSERVATION:

Newness is always possible to those who believe -- I must believe God is working a NEW work in me.

New things require a NEW language. Our self-talk draws us closer or drives us further from experiencing NEW things.

MY NEW LANGUAGE

Since I am engrafted in Christ, I am a new creature altogether; old things are passed away; behold all things are become NEW.
(II Cor 5:17)

When I was baptized I went into the tomb with Him and joined Him in death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the Fathers glory, I too might live a NEW life. (Romans 6:4).

I am not conformed to this world; but I am transformed by the

re-NEWING of my mind; that I might know the will of God – what is good, and is pleasing to Him and is perfect. (Romans 12:2) .

My speech demonstrates the power of God’s spirit in my life.

(1 Cor 2:4)

I have put off the old man and put on the NEW man, which is

re-NEWED in the knowledge after the image if Him that created me. (Col 3:10)

I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparable great power for us who believe. (Ephesians 1:18,19).

Christ in me is the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:27)

Since Christ is in me, I have the power to help others with their spiritual needs. Galatians 1:16).

AFFIRMATIONS:

I kindle afresh the gift of God which is in me.

I have an uncommon call to an uncommon life.

Things have never been the way they are going to be because God is doing a NEW thing in me.
