Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Memorial Day Must-Have, And There's Mustard In It
Posted 05-26-2021 at 08:34 PM by case44
Can you believe that another Memorial Day is right around the corner? Once we get to that point, the real staple of the last Monday in May has to come to the forefront.
Ol' Case needs to get a few more things for his hamburgers, because that's what's for dinner on Memorial Day.
And one of the things I like to do is concoct a mixture of mustard and ketchup together for a decadent mix to go with the vegetables and, best of all, the meat. This combination has been done before in some restaurants around the country, but there's no real name for it. There's no better combination for the perfect burger than the marriage between mustard and ketchup. Anticipation, right? Let's see, what would a good name be for the yellow-and-red lab experiment?

Hamburger elixir?
Texas goo-boo?
Oh, I'll think of something. Whichever name comes up is fine with me, so long as it's positive. The mixture will be set. Front and center in all of this is the burger itself. Throw in a side of baked beans or ranch beans and some French fries, and you've got a Memorial Day hoedown fit for a king. Or, perhaps, a queen, too. Don't let another Memorial Day pass without a good burger or two.
Get embroiled. You'll do Athens, Texas proud.
