The Holy Spirit of Agape Love and the Word of God

Agape (Ancient Greek ἀγάπη, agapē) is a Greco-Christian term referring to love, "the highest form of love, charity" and "the love of God for man and of man for God". The word is not to be confused with philia, brotherly love, as it embraces a universal, unconditional love that transcends and persists regardless of circumstance. It is devoid of sexual connotation and distinct from eros, sexual lust. It is the highest level of love known to humanity: "a selfless love that is passionately committed to the well-being of others" without totally ignoring ourselves.

Agape within human experience is imperfect, a very partial and rudimentary realization, (except in Jesus). That is why Jesus is so central to Christianity and our goal, NOT the Bible. His perfect agape provides the cover for our imperfections as we try to love everyone even our enemies and those we might detest or despise. It is not an easy goal to achieve. Those who believe in Christ exhibit agape love which is the only real evidence of a true believer in Christ. If you love as Jesus did, that is unambiguous evidence that you believe He is who He says He is, did what He says, and exemplifies what God wants from us.

If you do not love as He did, you do not believe in Him no matter what "precepts and doctrines of men" you profess to believe.
For the record, we can not EVER CHOOSE what we truly believe. We CAN choose who, how, what, and when we love. and it is God who calls us to Christ by the Comforter (His Holy Spirit of agape love) who abides with us in our consciousness to guide us to the Truth God has "written in our hearts," NOT by ancient words "written in ink" that have not been tested by the Spirit.

There is no doubt the worship of the Bible as the word of God has happened given the many inconsistencies and contradictions in the dominant Christian dogma. The only legitimate source of the Word of God is Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us about Him and does contain the word of God. But the spirit of whatever is claimed to be from God or Jesus must be tested against the Holy Spirit of agape love as revealed and unambiguously demonstrated by Jesus.

If you want to avoid all the confusion and incomprehensible jargon about the Trinity and the three-in-one God, just try to understand this. The Holy Spirit (Agape love) is the True Nature of God's Consciousness NOT a separate person. When we fully understand Jesus' consciousness ("mind of Christ") we understand the "mind of God."

This is where the confusion about the Trinity came in for our primitive ancestors who had no conception of consciousness. Jesus is a separate fully born in the flesh human person who brought His HUMAN consciousness into "perfect resonance" (Identity) with the True Nature of God's consciousness (Holy Spirit of agape love). There is no great mystery about it and we are all supposed to try to do the same.

When Jesus endured the horrendous scourging and crucifixion while retaining perfect agape love for even His torturers and murderers, He elevated His HUMAN consciousness into perfect resonance (Identity) with God's. When He died and was reborn as Spirit, His human consciousness became the Holy Spirit and joined God.

He also abides with us in our collective human consciousness as the Comforter (Holy Spirit) sent in His name to guide us to the truth God has "written in our hearts." We are to strive to bring as much of that true nature of God's consciousness (agape love) to our consciousness with the help of the Comforter. As an aid in doing that, here are the characteristics of God's true nature (Holy Spirit of agape love):

The Holy Spirit IS the True Nature of God revealed, described, and demonstrated unambiguously by Jesus. He IS agape love, kindness, mercy, compassion, gentleness, unconditional acceptance, empathy, sympathy, tolerance, long-suffering, decency, friendliness, peacefulness, joyfulness, understanding, care, concern, solicitude, solicitousness, sensitivity, tender-heartedness, soft-heartedness, warm-heartedness, warmth, love, brotherly love, tenderness, gentleness, mercifulness, leniency, lenience, consideration, kindness, humanity, humaneness, kind-heartedness, charity, benevolence, and He is non-judgmental.
