Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Could The Cowboys Actually Break Free In The NFC East?

Posted 11-28-2020 at 08:17 PM by case44

Great googly moogly, have you folks seen how bad the NFC East is in this year's NFL? All four of their teams are below .500. In fact, going into Thanksgiving, none of the teams had more than three wins in the can.

When the playoffs get going in a few weeks, don't be surprised if this division only lands one team in it. And whoever wins this same division will likely get eliminated very quickly. One team has four wins, and all the others have three. Fans of the Dallas Cowboys are wondering, as bad as the 'Boys have been this year, can they rise to the top of this division and possibly win it? This writer thinks they actually can, but they just need to start winning out. I won't say that it won't be tough. You've got the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Redskins all battling this out, and this division is anybody's to win.

So, we will watch the season play itself out. Dallas is capable, but both sides of the ball have big problems. Their defense was porous against the Redskins on Thanksgiving, and their schedule for the remaining games offers very little solace. Next up are the Baltimore Ravens, followed by the Cincinnati Bengals (possible win here) and San Francisco 49ers. After that, the Cowboys finish up with the Eagles and the Giants. They will need upsets, but the way this year has gone, you just never know.

Just like baseball, I believe football can be a funny game, too.
