The Reformation

Posted 10-02-2020 at 10:23 AM by snowduck

Matthew 15:9 - They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules. - Most of us have not been able to take a road trip this year, but when we do we want our maps, g.p.s or whatever to be accurate. And accuracy regarding God's word is what the leaders of the church reformation worked for. Christ had the same problem. Before the reformer's work became successful in the fifteen hundreds there was only one church in the whole world that would permit no others and was willingly preaching things that were not even close to God's word. The reformer's work was not easy. Sometimes their writings were burned, some had to hide and some were even killed by the church because they were said to be working against it. The most important thing the reformers wanted everyone to know was that Jesus Christ was their only savior, and not their own works. Without accuracy about Christ people cannot know him and be saved. What About Jesus?
