Bloody Bananas

Posted 08-31-2020 at 06:32 PM by aliasfinn

The other day I decided to get some bananas while I was at the grocery store. It had been a long time since I had any.

I started looking for some that were still a little green so they would last longer. I started to turn some over to check for ripeness and discovered some covered in blood.

The store had just started letting people in that morning so I figured one of the people stocking the shelves had cut their hand. It is easy to see how, there are sharp edges around the metal bin where they keep all the produce. I lost interest in fruit that day.

Once, I was getting a gallon of milk from the top shelf of a cooler in that store and I scraped my knuckles on the top of the metal grate. It started bleeding bad. I looked all over for something to wrap up my fist and settled for one of those plastic bags they keep on a roller for the produce.

The cashier kept staring at my hand. As soon as I loaded the groceries in the trunk, I took off the bag and wrapped my hand with a rag I had in the trunk.
