Is Pinellas County right for us ?

Have you considered Sarasota County? - Venice is building a huge hospital - a division of Sarasota Memorial - it is not as crowded here - Sarasota is "artsy" and you can be within 5 minutes of several beaches. Look up Venice and Nokomis FL - I am originally from NJ so I know where you are coming from - much safer here and schools are good - check out Laurel Nokomis School - highly rated and near the new hospital being build

I apologize, I'm sure there are many moving/relocating posts on here.
Wife and I are originally from NJ-- Relocated to the suburbs of Raleigh, NC a few years ago for better weather & lower cost of living. We have enjoyed it here but are starting to get BORED! We grew up near the beach with so much to do and although the area is growing... there just isn't enough for us. We've made some friends here but it's been hard.. There are a ton of young families but most are religious and really into church... or just not people we mesh well with.
We are both about to be 30. We have a 1yo and another on the way. Both our parents plan to retire full time to FL in the near future. We are both Nurses who currently work from home which has opened up a lot of possibilities for us.
We love beach life, being on the water, and and the occasional night out. The Tampa area seems to check a lot of boxes for us. When speaking to some people, they suggest looking into Pinellas County .
I would like to know your thoughts.
Is Pinellas County a good place to raise a family? Are there a lot of families around our age with kids? Are there enough things to do? We are by no means city people... But we like to be close enough to entertainment and a variety of restaurants, parks, bike trails, etc.... We would be looking to buy a house in the $450-$575 range and be within 25-30 minutes to a beach. Is this realistic?
Thank you for any advice !!
