Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Here's An Offer For Newsom And Cuomo: Dodgers-Yankees?
Our country is opening back up again and some positive things are happening. Some states, however, are still not yet even partially reopened.
You've been reading and/or hearing the news about California, New York, Michigan, Virginia, and New Jersey, and all the nonsense going on regarding COVID-19 and its recovery efforts. But for this post, I'll focus on the former two. California and New York actually make up a pretty big chunk of our nation's economy, with two of the largest cities and two of the largest airports. And Los Angeles and New York City, for years, have been bastions for world commerce. But their state's governors, Gavin "Gruesome" Newsom and Andrew Cuomo, respectively, have been reluctant to open their states, despite improving COVID-19 numbers. In fact, even though both actually praised President Donald J Trump for his help with both governors during the crisis, they've still decided that playing politics is way more important than the livelihoods of their residents and constituents. And, all the while, both are putting their political futures and re-election chances at risk just because they want to impede our country's economic comeback.
Both have stated that they will keep their states closed at least through the end of July, possibly into August.
I've got an enticing offer for both governors that will make them want to reopen their states way sooner. Can you say a Dodgers-Yankees World Series? Let's talk baseball for a quick moment. Okay, I'm a Houston Astros fan, but that's not important now. The idea of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees playing in this year's World Series is every bit as real as any matchup with MLB's best. And that prospect has its best opportunity of happening as it's had in many years, so how can Newsom and Cuomo resist such a pairing? For that to effectively happen, they would need to reopen their states. And, yes, Eric Garcetti (mayor of Los Angeles, in case you didn't know), that means you will need to open up your city right away. Don't you love your Dodgers? Just think, NYC, your team against what used to be your other team. The Show. And, yes, by September and October, we should see some fans. Dodger Stadium. Yankee Stadium. Two legendary palaces for two legendary baseball franchises.
Come on, Gruesome. Come on, Cuomo. You want this great matchup to take place? It's a real possibility, given that the Yankees and Dodgers will be among the top teams in their respective leagues. Enticing, right? You want this, don't you? You want this for all the great fans who (still) live in your states, don't you??
Then, please open your states up.

Boy, I just thank my lucky stars that I live in Texas. Great governor in Greg Abbott.

Pray for some serious red-pilling in NY and Cali.

If there's no baseball this season, then both governors need to be voted out of office. I know the players' union decides whether they play or not, but baseball fans are impatient. We want to see the game played.
NY and Cali need desperately to be red-pilled.Posted 05-30-2020 at 06:36 PM by case44
