COVID-19: Personal Update 2020-03-10 From Kirkland WA
CORONAVIRUS
A deadly new virus from China, which causes respiratory illness and pneumonia, is spreading around the world. CDC calls it COVID-19. I live in Kirkland, WA, about two miles due south of the outbreak's original epicenter, with multiple cases and the first substantial (10+) deaths.
(Caveat: one man, one IT worker, one opinion: I have no extra info over and above, one commentary only):
I am very surprised WA Gov Inslee has not brought in the 'Guard and walled off Kirkland. A horrid thing to say about our community, but seriously it must be a really, really heinous leadership dilemma for both him and Gov Cuomo. I haven't followed our cases to see what's what, but yes: it could happen. Deal with it, we've got our toilet paper and hand sanitizer so that's that. Can't live a couple weeks on your supplies, at this point, I dunno: call the 'Guard, have some MREs delivered or something. Jesus...
There are five layers of containment at a State level, we find out yesterday. We're at Level 2.
There is some serious concern going on here. I don't like Gov. Cuamo, and have no use for Gov Inslee, but I do respect that each man (leader) must make a very difficult decision here based on public good.
