Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

A Funny Thing About Tire Pressure Panel Lights

Posted 10-30-2019 at 03:20 AM by case44

The weather got colder one day this past week. I looked at the tire pressure light flashing on my panel signaling my need to get air in the tires.

Nearby was a 7-Eleven with an elaborate air pump / checker. I stopped and got my left front tire filled up, thinking it was just that. When I had gotten back into my car, the light was still on!

Guess it was time for more drastic measures. Time to go to Discount Tire and just line up behind other cars and get all of the tires some air. There were quite a few cars in front of me, so tires losing pressure when the weather experiences change is common. Turns out all the tires needed it. And that tire pressure light? It wouldn't shut off. The guy at Discount Tire sez that I should just give it a few minutes to reset.

A few minutes.

The weekend hit, and the light was still on. I was afraid that I'd have to go to Toyota for more drastic measures. Well, Monday morning arrived, and the light was finally off. Resetting in just a few minutes turned into a four-day wait. Things are now just fine with the tires.

Panels. Gotta love 'em.

Don't know if it will work on your vehicle, but I just disconnect the battery cable on mine, wait about 5 or 10 minutes, and that resets those lights on the dash.
