Who knows Plano inside and out?

West plano is if you truly have money. If you got it, sure. But as a kid I think I would find the characterless new development and sterile streets and boutique shops to be ultra boring. Central and east plano have more bustle, that is until you go far east plano bordering murphy where it gets quiet and cookie cutter again.

Regarding weather, Dallas always has a weird couple nights in december and january even that go up to 70F, but then to 35F the next night. It bounces like that. Otherwise February is the coldest nighttime temps I remember, and the winter is pretty painless. Maybe two weeks of 24/7 cold weather, and then you start getting warm days again.

There's a neighborhood of Plano that has a vastly mexican population, so you might be out of place if you move there and are not mexican. And then one very asian/indian section too. Apart from those two the rest is pretty diverse with all races and ethnicities making good money it seems. The "Douglass Community" used to have notoriety decades ago and obviously got gentrified rapidly since it's Plano. Last time I was there they put new wooden houses down that I would personally like to live in as a single male, and if you're leasing for a year I would say why not go check it out? It looks pretty harmless to me. I think most of the bad element has moved on from there to other neighborhoods. If you came from Buffalo NY I dunno how you could be worried about crime lmao.

Maybe it's cause I'm from there, but in my opinion the kids of East Plano are better hearted than the ones in Central (west of I-75) In Central since they're slightly more well off on average (or think they are) they have a suburban brattiness bred from having enough money to be spoiled on tasteless items, but not rich enough to have good taste. I remember those kids getting into vandalism and drugs, petty crime stuff, more than the ones on the East.

Here's a map I made for you and any future plano enquirers

The map is very helpful! What is the zip code(s) of the diverse area you mention? Are there middle and high schools there?
