Life in Studio City, CA

Posted 03-06-2019 at 12:37 PM by LoveMeSomeSFVHouses

If you're thinking of moving to Studio City, CA, here are some of the fun reasons why it might be a good neighborhood for you.

Housing prices in the San Fernando Valley are notoriously more affordable than the LA Basin, with a little more bang for your buck. In Studio City, it has an additional benefit of being located near the 101 freeway connection heading both towards Burbank, Downtown, and Hollywood areas - allowing for easier commutability than other Valley neighborhoods. Just note though - many people have begun using the hilly side streets as a cut through to Hollywood. If you're looking to move to these homes, you might want to check the traffic patterns nearby.

There are several great areas of Studio for housing.

There is a saying in the valley that "South Of the Boulevard" (referring to Ventura Blvd) is the place to be. And by and large, the values are more expensive the further into the hills you go. However - there are parts of Studio City hills that do not have much of a yard and therefore the flats tend to be just as or more desirable than the hills. One of these neighborhoods would be Colfax Meadows or Beeman Park that have a ton of walkability and useable lots. Celebrities, producers, managers and the like have been known to live in these neighborhoods and as such, it can be great celeb sightings at local businesses.

For those new to the area, perhaps their first stop should be to check out some of the namesakes that add the STUDIO to Studio City.CBS Studios can be found in the heart of Studio City and houses many shows that offer tickets to live tapings. Another good source of entertainment is bowling at Pinz. Always a popular locale, Pinz has become a Studio City institution.

If having a celebrity sighting more naturally is your thing and you happen to be a foodie, check out one of many restaurants located along Ventura Blvd. It is not uncommon to find celebrities going about their usual day, picking up coffee or having lunch, in this part of town. Studio City is also well known for the eastern portion of Ventura being known as “sushi alley” with many great sushi spots hitting all price points. Foodies will also love the weekly SundayFarmer’s Market from 8AM-1PM. One of the largest Farmer’s Markets in the area, it is also one of the best organized. You can find everything from your weekly shopping to a petting zoo for the kiddos while you shop.

Being so close to the mountains, Studio City has some wonderful outdoor recreation areas. Woodbridge Park is a large area in the south of the city. Wilacre Park is a unique park featuring an open grass wild area. Studio City Recreation Center (Beeman Park) is the party where a lot of good times are had. This park has barbeques, performance stage and ball fields for all ages.
